We are seeking an experienced, practical Site Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day operations at our small-scale quarry and concrete production facility in Waipukurau.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing quarry extraction, aggregate crushing and sales, and concrete batching, dispatch, and scheduling. You will lead a small operational team and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.
About the Role
As Site Supervisor, you will be the central point of coordination across quarry, yard, and concrete operations. You will balance operational leadership with on-the-ground involvement, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health and safety requirements are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Quarry & Aggregate Operations
Supervise daily quarry activities including extraction, stockpiling, imports, and yard operations.
Oversee crushing plant operation and basic maintenance coordination.
Ensure aggregates meet required quality and specification standards.
Manage customer pickups and yard interactions.
Concrete Batching & Production
Operate and supervise the concrete batching plant to meet daily schedules.
Ensure all concrete is batched accurately and consistently.
Coordinate concrete testing to internal and customer requirements.
Monitor raw material levels and organise timely replenishment.
Dispatch, Scheduling & Customer Service
Manage daily scheduling and dispatch of concrete deliveries.
Coordinate drivers, fleet movements, and delivery timeframes.
Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
Apply customer pricing in line with Delegated Authorities.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all operations comply with health and safety legislation and company policies.
Lead toolbox meetings, site inspections, and risk assessments.
Promote a strong and practical health and safety culture.
Leadership & Administration
Lead, supervise, and support a small team of operational staff.
Assist with training and capability development.
Complete daily reporting, stock tracking, and general administration.
Approve sales invoices and assist with month-end processes.
About You
Experience in quarrying, aggregates, concrete production, or similar heavy industry.
Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong health and safety knowledge and commitment.
Practical plant and equipment understanding.
Excellent organisation, communication, and customer service skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
